Brendan Schulman joins DJI as its vice president of policy and legal affairs

With Negative opinions from the public concerning privacy issues and authority regulations hindering such projects DJI have hired Mr Schulman at a critical time where the company is expanding in both consumer and commercial sectors.

Brendan Schulman is a lawyer who specialises in drone policies and law surrounding the UAV industry, with over 20 years experience in aerial technologies.

Frank Wang, CEO and founder of DJI. commented,”The next few years will be critical in setting the direction for unmanned aerial regulations, so we need a policy executive who shares our vision for UAS operation that is both accessible and safe,”

“Brendan is the perfect fit to drive forward this vision which will enable our customers to expand the use of aerial technology for creative and innovative purposes.”

“As the leader in the unmanned aerial space, DJI has set the standard for how this new technology is used, I am excited to join their passionate team and to work together with lawmakers, industry groups, and customers to find solutions to emerging policy questions and to open up the benefits of drone technology across industries.” said Mr. Schulman

Bard College Center for the Study of the Drone released an analysis earlier this month  of the first 500 federal exemptions for commercial drone use in the U.S , showing over half of the country’s commercial drone operators use DJI platforms.
