Following our exclusive back in February introducing the Neo X-Craft, much progress has been made in the optimization of the power systems by the Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering, part of the University of Derby. The provision of a research grant by the European Regional Development Fund has enabled considerable research into the latest batteries, engines, and systems. This has led to an upgrade in the mission profile of the craft with a greater range projected off a single charge. Work now begins on the airframe design by Professor Angelo Maligno who is Chair of Advanced Composites at the Institute.
