EasyJet to deploy drones to aid aircraft safety checks

Usually when you hear the two words drone and airplane in the same sentence, its  more often than not that the drone gets negative coverage in the media, but one such drone technology is being used to run aircraft safety checks.

Usually faults which take human power a day to find is found in a matter of just hours by  creating 3D images with millimetre accuracy. the drones are due to be in operation next year.

Chief executive Carolyn McCall said: “The advantage of these emerging technologies is threefold – freeing up our engineering team to undertake more skilled tasks, keeping our costs down which in turn keeps our fares low, and helping to minimise delays so maintaining our industry leading punctuality for our passengers.”
